Attachments are available for the production of different pasta shapes. I prefer the manual crank to the electric. Besides the price difference, the manual has less of a chance of breaking.

The three-and-a-half-gallon stainless steel tank will prepare up to 4 pounds of pasta in just a few minutes once the water preheats/ boils. The preheat time is about 25 minutes–meaning that if you turn the machine on and then prepare fresh pasta, the water will be ready. There is little wait time. The unit comes with two rectangular baskets for prep and four circular baskets for cooking individual portions. This unit also has the ability to be plumbed with water for continued usage throughout the day and has a built-in front drain for catching the starches from the pasta. One of their unique collections, the Jade collection, is made of an ornamental material that is known for its green color. I find it to be a nice contrast when serving a dish such as a carbonara. The bowl is available in 6-, 8- and 9-inch sizes.
